School’s Out! Our Children’s Museum will keep ‘em busy.

The Children’s Museum of Southeastern Connecticut is a little known gem for visitors with kids. Well-loved by locals this museum provides hands-on play and activities from babies to tweens no matter what the weather outside. They’ve got indoor and outdoor play spaces and are close to downtown Niantic. Activities are always refreshed so check their calendar for what’s happening when you go.

Make a day of it. Explore the museum then walk downtown for lunch , ice cream, or a bag of  yummies from the old fashioned style candy shop. Scott’s Yankee Farmer is down the street for some pick-your-own fun.

Book lovers, Book Barn is a must see as well here, an absolutely charming way to browse a fabulous selection of gently used books for every interest imaginable.

Pssst! You can even borrow a beach-pass from the museum, getting a little ocean fun in too! Passes are limited, first come first served.

Friday June 24 is their School’s Out Bash! Music by NYC’s Carnival Trio and loads of activities. Check out their site for more info.
