River Glow will set the night on fire this weekend in Pawcatuck.

It’s eastern Connecticut’s own version of Providence’s Waterfire! River Glow happens this weekend in the Pawcatuck River (near downtown Westerly, Rhode Island). The river will be lit up with over 30 floating bonfires, and if you’ve never experienced one of these, you absolutely have to. The smell of the bonfires, the night breeze from the river, and the experience of community coming together for this artistic display should not be missed.

The event will come to life beginning at 7 p.m. this Saturday, August 13 in Donahue Park, featuring live music (Rock and Soul Revue), horse-drawn hayrides, face paining, clowns and balloon twirling. And of course, The Incredible Larry, fire juggler and comedian, and belly dancing will render the evening complete. Food vendors will be there too, so don’t worry about dinner. All we need is good weather to get this party started!
