Puppets waging war. This weekend only at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.

The Eugene O’Neill Theater Center brings puppets to life this week with a series of workshops and two performances, all designed to tell the stories of these fascinating artistic pieces interactively. The National Puppetry Conference is here.

O’Neill is an icon in our area, bringing theater to life in a quiet corner of southeastern Connecticut. The center draws some of the biggest names in the business and can be counted on to keep things quirky, fun and artsy during the season.

This kickoff of the 2012 summer season will be no different–especially if you’ve always had the desire to learn more about pulling puppet strings. Special guests and masters of puppetry will teach their tricks and work one-to-one with students all week to create puppets and prepare for battle during this weekend’s culmination: the Icelandic epic, SAGA. The performances will be held Friday and Saturday. This will be too cool to miss. Cancel your plans and make reservations now and get a glimpse of what the O’Neill has in store for us this summer.
