Make holiday memories at a local tree farm. Cut your own Christmas tree this year.
Ahhh, can you smell that? Pine boughs…brings you right into the season.
Start a new holiday tradition this year–or put a new twist on your typical tree-cutting adventure. Eastern Connecticut has tons of options if you want to venture out into the woods and choose a fresh, perfect tree. Firs, pines, spruces, wreaths, kissing balls, and the quintessential New England atmosphere await!
Some farms like Allen Hill Farm in Brooklyn offer hay rides to and from the fields and goodies like hot apple cider or other treats. Others have cool Christmas shops on site. The scenery at these places should not be missed, either–some have more than 100 acres to peruse. Make a family day out of this adventure.
If you’ve never cut your own tree down, it’s definitely time to give it a try. There’s nothing like that smell of fresh pine wafting through the house around Christmas time to make it feel. . .homey (and hey a newly cut tree lasts a good long time).
From the Quiet Corner all the way to Mystic, our local farms help create a true New England holiday mood.
