Forget the winter blues. Spend this weekend in Winter Wonderment at the Florence Griswold Museum.

The winter blues might be setting in despite the warmer weather we’ve been lucky enough to have here in eastern CT–but we have the perfect cure. The Florence Griswold Museum is holding a Winter Wonderment Weekend Feb. 11-12, with cool events for the whole family to enjoy.

Scavenger hunts, art projects, a face painter and glitter tattoo artist are some of the free for kids (adults are $5) events. Other ticketed items include a puppet show about twig people who share a tree with squirrels and other forest friends, and the Family Folk Concert with Dave Fry, specially designed for kids.

If you decide to check out this event, you’ll also get a sneak peek of a brand new exhibit, … isms, which explores the various art styles. Cool for art lovers and newbies alike. The Flo Gris is a great place for a crash course in art and Impressionism, and perfect for something new to do on a winter afternoon.
