Foods from all over the world. International Food Festival in Mystic this weekend.

Eat like a world traveler this weekend at Olde Mystick Village’s Second Annual International Food Festival. Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10, rain or shine, the Village will be transformed into a cultural melting pot of food, all of it local specialties. The festival starts at 11 and it’s free.

Indian food, Asian and sushi, Lebanese, American are just a sampling of the goodies on hand, not to mention pizza for the kids if their tastes are a bit more simple. And lots of cultural entertainment: face painting, Tibetan singers and dancers, yoga and drumming, native spirit flutes — too many cool things to name. Cooking demos and tastings are happening too, in case you want to try your hand at recreating a dish.

So come on down and spend some time in the Village. There’s lots of shopping to do in between meals, and the Mystic Aquarium is right next door (check out their World Oceans Day party on Saturday. And, don’t forget, Saturday is Open House Day in Connecticut.
