Diversify Your Menu. The International Food Festival.
Sick of the same old food? Head over to Olde Mistick Village on June 11 and 12 for their first International Food Festival featuring ethnic cuisine from Connecticut and Rhode Island restaurants.
From the basics (pizza, Italian and pub food) to Mexican, Indian and sushi, you’ll likely leave this event full and happy – and with a new appreciation of menu diversity. Food will be available for tastings and to buy, and cooking demos will also be held at various shops.
And it’s not just about the food (although that’s certainly important). There’ll be live entertainment too, including Tibetan dancers, an African drum circle, bagpipers from the Mystic Highland Pipeband, a Nashville singer, and dancers from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio, to name a few. Demonstrations of acupuncture, yoga, Brazilian Jujitsu, Thailand kickboxing, Japanese swordsmanship, and a bunch of other cool things will be happening simultaneously. It’s all FREE by the way.
While there shop the great stores, have a iced coffee from the Village Beanery, catch a movie or stroll around the beautiful grounds.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. I’m already planning what foods I want to try. What are you having?
