A taste of pure New England. Olde Mistick Village’s Cabin Fever Festival & Charity Chowder Cookoff.
I love chowder. It’s one of the many reasons I live in New England. There are so many kinds to choose from–and this weekend, they’ll all be in one place during the 2012 Olde Mistick Village’s Cabin Fever Festival & Charity Chowder Cookoff.
Beginning at noon on Saturday, Feb. 25 some of my favorite Connecticut and Rhode Island restaurants (27 total) will be cooking up a storm for tasters who will vote in categories like Most Creative Chowder, Heartiest Chowder and Best Use of Regional Ingredients–and the ultimate People’s Choice Awards.
Come one down, taste to your heart’s content and vote for your favorite concoction! Sampling sizes are $1 each, 7 for $15 or 15 for $10. Proceeds support the Emergency Food Pantry, a local service at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. Whether you’re from the area or not, this is a very worthy cause to support–and such a tasty, fun way to support it too.
